July 13, 2010. The Hollywood actor John Malkovich stars in ‘The Infernal Comedy’ which will play at the Mariinsky Theater Concert Hall in St.Petersburg. John Malkovich portrays the charming serial killer Jack Unterweger in an opera version of the true story of an Austrian maniac at the Mariinsky Concert Hall as part of an international tour of “The Infernal Comedy: Confessions of a Serial Killer.” Written and directed by Michael Sturminger, “The Infernal Comedy” brings together Malkovich, several sopranos and a baroque orchestra to tell the story of Unterweger, who killed 11 prostitutes in Europe and the U.S. by strangling them with their own bras. The collection on display features 70 pieces of colored glass produced by Swiss masters in the 16th-18th centuries.
