Belarus seeks death penalty for alleged Minsk bombers | ||||||||||||||||||||
Prosecutors in Belarus are calling for the death penalty for two men accused of carrying out a series of deadly bombing attacks in the country. Dmitry Konovalov and Vladislav Kovalyov allegedly carried out a bomb attack in April 11,2011 that killed 15 people and injured many more, and have also been accused of alleged involvement in a number of other terrorist attacks in Belarus. Belarus is the only nation in Europe that still offers the death penalty. Pictured: September 15,2011.
