July 12, 2010. A layer of plaster has been removed from the icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker over the gates of Moscow Kremlin’s Nikolskaya Tower (not pictured). Before being walled up after the 1917 Revolution, the icon was riddled with bullets by the Bolsheviks, but the face of St. Nicholas remained unharmed. This was not for the first time that an ancient icon was discovered in the Moscow Kremlin. Another one, depicting Jesus Christ (pictured), was found over the gates of the Spasskaya Tower a week ago.
 

July 08, 2010. Authorities in Georgia claim that World`s oldest woman lives in Georgia. Antisa Khvichava (pictured), the resident of Tsalenjikhi region of Georgia has to be included in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest woman of the World. Antisa Khvichava was born on July 8th 1880, in Sachino settlement, Tsalenjikhi district of Samegrelo-Svaneti region of Georgia. As for Guinness Book of Records the oldest woman in the world is considered to be 120 years old Gertrude Banes from California . July 08, 2010. Ivan Kupala Day celebrations in Veliky Novgorod city of Russia. Ivan Kupala Day is celebrated in Poland, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine currently on the night of 6/7 July.On Kupala Day youths would jump over the flames of bonfires. Girls would float wreaths of flowers often lit with candles on rivers and would attempt to gain foresight into their relationship fortunes from the flow patterns of the flowers on the river.
