September 15, 2009. Senior Ukraine Official says no Ukraine adoption for Elton John. Elton John will not be able to adopt a 14-month-old Ukrainian boy Lev because the pop star is too old and isn`t traditionally married. Pop star Elton John and his partner David Furnish are interested in trying to adopt a Ukrainian boy named Lev whom they met when they both visited orphanage for HIV-positive children in town of Makeevka in Donetsk region of Ukraine. The singer told reporters in Ukraine on that David Furnish has long wanted to adopt a child but that he was reluctant until he met Lev at an orphanage where many of the children`s parents have died from AIDS. Elton John is famous for his anti-AIDS activities, being a founder of the Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF).
