Russian President Vladimir Putin had a meeting with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in the Kremlin on Thursday, offering the strongly anti-American leader broad political support and giving his blessing to hefty arms orders and budding oil and gas projects.President Hugo Chavez said proir his trip to Russia that he was considering arms purchases, including submarines and a missile-equipped air defense system.
